Floating Down the River

We went on a family river adventure! We packed around 30 people into several rafts and canoes for a 4.5 mile river trip. The water's current was very slow, so we all just floated along; we only paddled when we needed to avoid hitting something (even though we ended up running into things anyway). We also vegged on snacks the whole trip. We made several stops along the way to cool off in the water.

My kids loved throwing rocks in the water
Our raft's captain, Uncle Don, is snoozing in the background
Jaxon and Daphne
Dayton with his river pal, Aunt Elaine
She supplied him with endless rocks for throwing, and
she floated along the river with him on her back for a while
Daphne and Mommy on the raft
After a few hours of the journey, Dayton nodded off in a canoe
Elaine shaded his face from the sun with this little sunhat
The whole trip lasted about 4 hours. Dayton and Daphne enjoyed themselves. They loved stopping to get out and play in the water. They also liked bouncing in our raft.

What a fun trip! It's nice when it's enjoyable and there's no danger involved.

So are we ready for white water rafting now?
