Derrick's White Coat Ceremony Weekend

Well it's starting to look WAY more official that Derrick will be a doctor sometime in the future. He had his white coat ceremony a week ago. His parents and my parents flew in to show their support for him (and see their grandkids). Here is the story of our weekend told by pictures!

White Coat Ceremony

Dayton was excited to see Nana there
Daphne bonded with her Grandpa Bill
Daphne colored with Grandma Cindy to keep busy;
She LOVED clapping every time the audience clappedDr. Derrick
Derrick with his proud parents
Dayton enjoyed carrying around Daddy's long-stem rose
and a paper towel tube that he carried
from home and WOULD NOT leave behindDaddy sharing cookies with Daphne after the ceremonyDayton wore his new Cars hat (that he picked out),
and his sister's glasses most of the time.
You can see here that he's still sporting the rose
(it was dragging a lot).Grandpa Bill, Dayton, Derrick,

Duck Pond
One day we ventured to a nearby duck pond in the POURING RAIN.
We were fortunate enough to see two geese with new goslings!
Dayton and Grandma Cindy tossing bread
to the geese, ducks, and fish
Daphne and Daddy observing the action
I was a good/bad mom as we left the pond because for the
first time in Dayton's life, I let him splash in a puddle
and get soaked. It was a dirty, stinky puddle, too!

Playing with Grandparents
Grandpa Gary reading to Daphne
Grandma Cindy searching for missing Legos with Dayton
using tubes as binoculars, earphones, and microphones.
Dayton helped Grandpa Bill hang a coat rack
that Mommy has wanted up for MONTHS now!
Silly Dayton, showing off a screw
Hooray! The coat rack works!
and it's even kid-level

She's currently on a nursing mission for 2 months!

As you can see by all the pictures, my children ADORE their grandparents, and packed in a lot of fun with them last weekend. I need them around more often to play with my kids, read to them, take them places, etc.

Thanks for visiting everyone!
Congratulations Derrick!

Woo hoo Derrick!

Love the family photo of you four!

Poor Dayton probably wonders where the party went after all the family left!
