Dayton's 4th Birthday

For breakfast, Dayton ate french toast on the birthday plate
With syrup AND powdered sugar
Daphne and Mommy volunteered at Dayton's preschool for his birthday. We brought in ribbon wands for the whole class and we danced around to a few songs. Then we went outside and joined the class for recess.
Daphne LOVED being at school with Dayton
Dayton is very brotherly/protective of Daphne at school
Dayton riding a bike around the school's playground
I think he was fixing the bike while he was riding
Opening presents
Daphne typically snatched the gifts from DaytonPlaying a new matching game from Grandma
Holding up a few presents
We gave each kid a new scooter for Dayton's birthday;
Daphne looks like she's a scooter model- adorable
Daphne did great on her scooter-
she figured it out instantly

Dayton was wobbly on his scooter at first,
but he tried it again later and succeededUsing watercolor paints for the first time
Taking a bath with their new Suddzy Wubbzy Toy
Dayton got a special mail package from Susie and Lennon;
they picked out a Buzz Lightyear Laser for Dayton-
it could not be more perfect!Dayton rarely takes off his laser;
He shoots it at EVERYTHING:
people, food, plants, shoes, etc
Here is a video montage of Dayton's birthday activities

Some things that we love about our 4-yr-old boy...
-If you ask him to do something for you, he'll answer, "Of course!"
-He is VERY smart. He can read, spell, and write. On the computer, he uses the mouse and navigates websites on his own.
-He says wonderful prayers, remembering his friend Ashton, his Uncle Alex on his mission, and praying for Dayton and Daphne to be nice to each other.
-He enjoys dancing to techno music with Daddy.
-He has a great imagination, and invents games with superheroes, bad guys, and monsters.
-He still doesn't like getting dirty. He prefers not to feed himself messy foods, he doesn't like dirt or messes on his hands. He makes us change his clothes if he spills anything on them.
-He is finally pronouncing the letter L in words!
-HE LOVES LEARNING. He plays rhyming word games in the car; he practices addition with his fingers when he's eating dinner; he loves reading books to us- he could read for hours; and he loves Mom and Dad teaching him new things.
