First Snow of Winter

We woke up to snow today. When Dayton saw the snow out the window, he yelled to me, "Snow! Mommy there's snow!" Then Daphne came downstairs, and he yelled to her, "Daphne it's snowing today! We're going to have to build a snowman! I want all my friends to see the snow, and my teacher. And we can make snow angels!"
The kids peeked out the window as soon as they woke up;
Daphne exclaimed, "Snow! I want to touch it."
After touching the snow, Mommy asked "What does it feel like?", and Daphne said, "Ice! And it kinda looks like ice. Oh, it's cold out there." She went outside 8 times to touch the snow.

And I was thrilled that the first snow came on a Saturday, so Daddy was home to take the kids outside to play.
Dayton's Snow AngelDaphne eating snow;
She didn't last long in the snow. She got cold and
came inside to drink warm chocolate with Mommy.
Dayton and Daddy made a snowman together.
Derrick was so proud of Dayton because
Dayton rolled the entire head on his own.
Dayton even lifted the head to add to the snowman!
That's our strong boy!
Dayton and the snowman!
