How do I measure my success as a mother? I guess if the kids are happy and healthy, I haven't failed! The things my kids make for me are so dear; their creations warm my heart. Daphne drew me a hill with two mud puddles, and a rose flower with thorns, and rain so the flower can grow; she managed to write "Mom I Love You." Dayton made the handprint at school, and wrote that he loves me because "You mac me hapey." I told my kids that today I wanted them to be nice to each other all day without fighting (I think I asked for this last year, too.) It didn't work, but I think they tried.
