Surgery #1- Right eye
The entire surgery visit was 2 hrs, and very close to us in Waltham. The kids wanted to wait for Daddy in the waiting room so we brought snacks, games, the iPod, and the tablet.

Post-op, doing great!

Surgery #2- Left eye
The second surgery was in Boston and early in the morning. So we dropped Derrick off then went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast.
Driving in the city I saw this sign. I had to take a picture since it is one of our favorite jokes from comedian Brian Reagan. This was my first time actually seeing this road sign.
Shouldn't that read, "Road Closed"?
Then we went back to pick up Derrick. This time we were permitted back to his recovery area. It was a little weird at first for the kids to see him this way- in patient attire, hooked up to machines. Soon they thought it was amusing. Derrick feigned agony for these pictures.
And the great news: Derrick's vistion on his right eye was checked and was completely corrected! So a corrective surgery wasn't necessary. Both eyes are now perfect!
